Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the Kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. * Hymn: Insert “God, All Nature Sings Thy Glory” Ode to Joy * God’s Greeting: Grace and peace to you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. * Prayer of the Day: Almighty and gracious Father, we give you thanks for the fruits of the earth in their season and for the labors of those who harvest them. Make us, we pray, faithful stewards of your great bounty so that we may provide for our necessities and give relief to all who are in need, to the glory of your Name, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. * Response: “We Bring the Sacrifice of Praise”
Confession And Prayer Responsive Reading of the Law from the Psalms: PH 1015 Prayer of Confession: Most merciful God, we confess to you that we are by nature sinful and unclean, and that we have disobeyed you in thought, word and deed; and not only in outward transgressions, but also in secret thoughts and desires that we are ashamed to acknowledge, but which are known to you. For this reason we seek refuge in your infinite mercy and pray that you would be gracious to us, and turn from us those punishments which we by our sins have deserved. Forgive us for all of our sins and renew within us the image of Jesus Christ, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name.
