   Silent Prayer and Preparation

*  Call to Worship:                                                                        Psalm 105

Remember the wonders the Lord has done, O descendants of Abraham his servant, O sons of Jacob, his chosen ones.  He is the Lord our God; he remembers his covenant forever, the word he commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.

Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; sing to him, sing praise to him, tell of all his wonderful acts, glory in his holy name, let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.  Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.

* Hymn:  PH 621                     “The God of Abraham Praise”                            Leoni

        Blessed be God,

                           And blessed is his kingdom, now and forever.  Amen.

*  Prayer of the Day:

Most gracious Father, whose will it is for us to give thanks for all things and to fear nothing but the loss of your presence, keep us from faithless fears and worldly anxieties, so that no clouds of this temporal life may hide from us the light of your eternal love which has been made known to us in Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Confession And Prayer

   Prayer of Confession:

Merciful God, we humble ourselves in your presence, confessing our unworthiness and sinfulness in your sight. We have broken your holy laws. We have not sought your kingdom and your righteousness above all things. We have not loved you with all of heart, soul, mind, and strength, and we have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. We have not done to others as we would have them do to us. We have been anxious and troubled about many things and have neglected that which belongs to our peace. Most gracious God, forgive us for all of our sins. Cleanse us from the stain of our sin and renew within us a right spirit, through the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
