    Welcome and Announcements

    Silent Prayer and Preparation

*  Call to Worship:                                                                                                 Psalm 47

God has ascended with shouts of joy, the Lord with the sounding of trumpets.  Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.

For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise.  God reigns over the nations, for the kings of the earth belong to him; sing praises to his name.

*  Hymn:  PH 410                  “Crown Him with Many Crowns”                           Diademata

*  God’s Greeting:

Grace and peace to you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

    Amen.

The Lord be with you.

    And also with you.

Our help is in the name of the Lord,

    Who made heaven and earth.

Blessed be God,

    And blessed is his kingdom, now and forever.  Amen.

*  Prayer of the Day:

Lord God Almighty, the Ancient of Days, who has set your Son Jesus Christ on the glorious throne of your kingdom, and exalted him above all powers and principalities, dominions and thrones; grant that he, who has taken our flesh and carried our humanity into your holy presence, may pour out the gifts of grace upon your people, and may he be both our righteous judge and merciful intercessor, to whom with you and the Holy Spirit, be all power, majesty, dominion and praise, now and forever. Amen.

 *   Response:  PH 621, stanza 5             “The God of Abraham Praise”            Leoni

Triumphant hosts on high give thanks to God and sing,

and “Holy, holy, holy” cry, “Almighty King!”

Hail, Abraham’s God and ours!  One mighty hymn we raise.

All power and majesty be yours and endless praise!

Confession and Prayer

    Prayer of Confession:

O great and everlasting God, who searches and knows the thoughts and intentions of our hearts, we confess that we have not loved you with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength.  And we have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. We have loved what we ought not to have loved, and we have coveted what is not ours.  We have not been content with your providence over our lives, or with the provisions you have made for us.  We have complained in our hearts about our families, our friends, our health, our vocations, our trials, and about your church. We have sought security in those things which perish, rather than in you, the everlasting God.  Cleanse and forgive us, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives to make intercession for us according to your will.
