Preparation And Praise Upon entering the sanctuary please maintain silence and turn off all electronic devices for the sake of the congregation’s preparation for worship. Prelude: “Love Divine” Charles Callahan “This Is My Father’s World” Sondra Tucker Welcome and Announcements Silent Prayer and Preparation * Call to Worship: Psalm 105 Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, O descendants of Abraham, his servant, O sons of Jacob, his chosen ones. * Hymn: Insert “Join All the Glorious Names” Darwall * God’s Greeting: Grace and peace to you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The Lord be with you. And also with you. Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. Blessed be God, And blessed is his kingdom, now and forever. Amen. * Prayer of the Day: Almighty God, you have built your church on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone: Grant that we may be so joined together in the unity of the Spirit by their teaching, that we may be made a holy temple acceptable to you, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. * Response: “We Bring the Sacrifice of Praise” We bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. (2X) And we offer up to you the sacrifices of thanksgiving; And we offer up to you the sacrifices of joy! Kirk Dearman, 1984, John T. Benson Co., CCLI 503812
Confession and Prayer Prayer of Confession: We confess to you, Almighty God, that we have grievously sinned in thought, word, and deed. Grant to us a contrite heart and forgive us for all our sins through our Savior Jesus Christ. Restore our soul that we may be merciful and kind, even as you are. Let your forgiveness make us willing to forgive all wrong which we have suffered, and to ask forgiveness for every wrong which we have done. Give to us also, we pray, a spirit of humility and gentleness in all that we do. Let our love and kindness be as abundant as our joy, so that we may be generous to all in need, and that we might give of ourselves freely for your name’s sake. And may we, being rooted and grounded in the mystery of the Son of God being made flesh for us, receive power to overcome the world and live in obedience to your will, through the same Lord Jesus. Silent Prayer and Confession Minister: Amen. Assurance of Pardon: Psalm 103 Response: “As the Deer”
