    Prelude:  “We Bring the Sacrifice of Praise”                              Dearman/arr. Hayes

                    “You Are My All in All”                                                          Jernigan/arr. Ham

    Welcome and Announcements

    Silent Prayer and Preparation

*  Call to Worship:                                                                                                 Psalm 50

The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets.  From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth.  He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that he may judge his people: “Gather to me my consecrated ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”

Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, and call upon him in the day of trouble.  He who sacrifices thank offerings honors the Lord; to the one who orders his way rightly, I will show the salvation of God.

*  Hymn:   PH 239               “Amid the Thronging Worshipers”                               Bovina

*  God’s Greeting:

Grace and peace to you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

    Amen.

The Lord be with you.

    And also with you.

Our help is in the name of the Lord,

    Who made heaven and earth.

Blessed be God,

    And blessed is his kingdom, now and forever.  Amen.

*  Prayer of the Day:

Lord God, you have taught us to keep all your commandments by loving you and our neighbor. Give to us the grace of your Holy Spirit, that we may be devoted to you with our whole heart, and united to one another with pure love, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

*  Response:                  “We Bring the Sacrifice of Praise”

We bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. (2X)

And we offer up to you the sacrifices of thanksgiving;

And we offer up to you the sacrifices of joy!

Confession and Prayer

    Responsive Reading of the Summary of the Law:

What is the great and first commandment?

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

What is the second commandment like it?

Love your neighbor as yourself.

What does this mean?

Love is the fulfilling of the law.

To what does this call us?

To a life of faith working through love.

    Prayer of Confession:

Almighty God our Father, who pardons all who truly repent and turn to you, we humbly confess our sins and seek your mercy. We have not loved you with a fervent heart, neither have we loved our neighbors as ourselves. We have not done justly, nor loved mercy, nor walked humbly with you, our God. Have mercy upon us, O Lord, according to your steadfast love, according to the multitude of your abundant mercies, blot out our iniquity. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Cast us not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from us. Restore unto us the joy of your salvation; and uphold us with your Holy Spirit.

Silent Prayer and Confession

Minister: Amen.

    Assurance of Pardon:                                                                                        Isaiah 44

    Response: PH 183: 1, 3      “With Grateful Heart My Thanks I Bring”         Solid Rock

With grateful heart my thanks I bring, before the great your praise I sing.

I worship in your holy place and praise you for your truth and grace;

for truth and grace together shine in your most holy Word divine,

in your most holy Word divine.

O Lord, enthroned in glory bright, you reign alone in heavenly height;

the proud in vain your favor seek, but you have mercy for the meek.

Through trouble though my pathway be, you will revive and strengthen me,

you will revive and strengthen me.
