    Welcome and Announcements

    Silent Prayer and Preparation

*  Call to Worship:                                                                                               Psalm 111

I will extol the Lord with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly.  Great are the works of the Lord; glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever.

He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate.  He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever—holy and awesome is his name.

*  Hymn:   Insert                “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name!”                            Diadem

*  God’s Greeting:

Grace and peace be to you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

    Amen.

The Lord be with you.

    And also with you.

Our help is in the name of the Lord,

    Who made heaven and earth.

Blessed be God,

    And blessed is his kingdom, now and forever.  Amen.

*  Prayer of the Day:

Grant us, Lord God, the spirit to think and to do those things that are right, wise and good, so that we, who cannot exist without you, may be enabled by your grace to live according to your will, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Confession and Prayer

    Responsive Reading of the Law:  PH 1014

    Prayer of Confession:

You, O Lord, have promised that if we confess our sins, you are faithful and righteous, and will forgive us all our sins.  Humbly we come, seeking your forgiveness that we may know the joy of your presence and the light of your face shining upon us.  You alone know our hearts, how often we have failed to love you with our heart, soul, mind and strength, and how often we have failed to love our neighbors as ourselves.  Forgive us for every unkind thought, every false word, and every wrong act.   Forgive us for failing to give you thanks, for our neglect of prayer, and our willful ignorance of your word.  Heavenly Father, have mercy on us. Remove from us all that dims the brightness of your glory and give to us a passion to know you in all of your fullness, through Jesus Christ our Lord.   Silent Prayer and Confession

Minister: Amen.

    Assurance of Pardon:                                                                                        Isaiah 30

    Response:                 “Change My Heart, O God”

Refrain:  Change my heart, O God, make it ever true;

            Change my heart, O God, may I be like You.

You are the Potter, I am the clay.

Mold me and make me, this is what I pray.  (Refrain)

The Service Of The Word

*  Hymn:                                      “In Christ Alone”

In Christ alone my hope is found, he is my light, my strength, my song;

This cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm.

What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!

My comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone!—who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless babe!

This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones he came to save:

Till on that cross as Jesus dies; the wrath of God was satisfied

For every sin on him was laid:  here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground his body lay, light of the world by darkness slain:

Then bursting forth in glorious day up from the grave he rose again!

And as he stands in victory sin’s curse has lost its grip on me,

For I am his and he is mine—bought with the precious blood of Christ.

*  Response:                     “Majesty”

Majesty, worship his majesty. Unto Jesus be all glory, honor, and praise.

Majesty, kingdom authority flow from his throne unto his own;

            His anthem raise.

So exalt, lift up on high the name of Jesus.

Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus, the King.

Majesty, worship his majesty; Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all kings.
