Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who loves us and has set us free from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father, to him be glory and power forever and ever.

        The Lord be with you.

            And also with you.

        Our help is in the name of the Lord,

            Who made heaven and earth.

Blessed be God,

And blessed is his kingdom, now and forever.  Amen.

*  Prayer of the Day:

Almighty God, who through your only Son Jesus Christ overcame death and opened to us the gate of everlasting life, grant that we, who celebrate with joy the day of our Lord’s resurrection, may be delivered from all coldness of heart and every distraction of mind, that with the truest love and deepest gratitude we may give to you the praise and honor that is worthy of the great salvation you have given us through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

*  Response:           “Alleluia!  Alleluia!”                                                                                                      Ode to Joy

Alleluia, alleluia!  Hearts to heaven and voices raise.

Sing to God a hymn of gladness, sing to God a hymn of praise.

He who on the cross a victim for the world’s salvation bled,

Jesus Christ, the King of glory, now is risen from the dead.

Confession And Prayer

   Prayer of Confession:

Almighty God our Father, who raised from the dead our Lord Jesus; we acknowledge that we are unworthy of your redeeming grace. We have not believed your promises, nor trusted in our living Lord. Through worldliness of spirit, our eyes have been kept from discerning his presence with us. Through disappointment of mind and dejection of spirit, our hearts have not burned within us as we have heard his Word. We have not relied upon his redeeming power, and have often been overcome by sin and disobedience. We have forgotten the glad tidings of his victory over death, and have not known the things which belong to our peace. But now in repentance we come to you, seeking your forgiveness. Mercifully grant us cleansing from all our sins, and restore to us the joy of our salvation, through Jesus Christ our Mediator and Advocate.

     Silent Prayer and Confession

     Minister: Amen.

   Assurance of Pardon:                                                                                               Romans 4

   Choral Anthem:  “Galilean Easter Carol”                                                                           Shure

*  Acclamation of Christ’s Glory:

     Rejoice now, heavenly hosts and choirs of angels, and let your trumpets shout salvation, for the victory of the mighty King.

           Rejoice and sing now, all around the earth, bright with a glorious splendor, for darkness has been vanquished by our eternal King.

     Rejoice and be glad now, Fairlawn Church, and let your holy courts, in radiant light, resound with the praises of God’s people.

           All who stand here this day, pray for the grace of God Almighty to sing the worthy praise of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.
