                     “O Sons and Daughters”                                                                             Loret

    Welcome and Announcements:   Silent Prayer and Preparation

*  Call to Worship:                                                                                                     Psalm 96

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.  Sing to the Lord and bless his name; proclaim good tidings of his salvation from day to day.

Tell of his glory among the nations, his wonderful deeds among all peoples.  For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods.  Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

*  Hymn:  Insert          “Now All the Vault of Heaven Resounds”             Lasst Uns Erfreuen

*  God’s Greeting:

Grace and peace to you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

    Amen.

The Lord be with you.

    And also with you.

Our help is in the name of the Lord,

    Who made heaven and earth.

Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord.

                Peace in heaven and glory in the highest.

*  Prayer of the Day:

Lord God our Father, who by the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light, grant that we, who have been raised to newness of life in him, may abide in his presence and rejoice in the hope of eternal glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be dominion and praise for ever and ever.  Amen.

*  Response:            “Now All the Vault of Heaven Resounds”              Lasst Uns Erfreuen

Adoring praises now we bring

And with the heavenly blessed sing,

     ‘Christ hath triumphed, Alleluia!’

Be to the Father, and our Lord,

To Spirit blest, most holy God,

     Thine the glory never ending!

     Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

Confession and Prayer

    Responsive Reading of the Law:   PH 1013

    Prayer of Confession:

  You, O Lord, have promised that if we confess our sins, you are faithful and righteous, and will forgive us all our sins.  Humbly we come, seeking your forgiveness that we may know the joy of your presence and the light of your face shining upon us.  You alone know our hearts, how often we have failed to love you with our heart, soul, mind and strength, and how often we have failed to love our neighbors as ourselves.  Forgive us for every unkind thought, every false word, and every wrong act.   Forgive us for failing to give you thanks, for our neglect of prayer, and our willful ignorance of your word.  Heavenly Father, have mercy on us. Remove from us all that dims the brightness of your glory and give to us a passion to know you in all of your fullness, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

 Silent Prayer and Confession              Minister: Amen.

    Assurance of Pardon:                                                                                 II Corinthians 5

    Response:   “In Christ Alone”

In Christ alone my hope is found, he is my light, my strength, my song;

This cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm.

What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!

My comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand.

There in the ground his body lay, light of world by darkness slain:

Then bursting forth in glorious day up from the grave he rose again!

And as he stands in victory shin’s curse has lost its grip on me,

For I am his and he is mine—bought with the precious blood of Christ.

        Q.    How does Christ’s resurrection benefit us?

A.     First, by his resurrection he has overcome death, so that he might make us share in the righteousness he won for us by his death.  Second, by his power we too are already now resurrected to a new life.  Third, Christ’s resurrection is a guarantee of our glorious resurrection.
