Prelude: “Seek Ye First” Lafferty/arr. Kuder “Jesus Shall Reign” Hatton Welcome and Announcements Silent Prayer and Preparation * Call to Worship: Hosea 6 Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us, but he will heal us; he has wounded us, but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in presence. Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to know him. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; he will come like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. * Hymn: PH 408 “Rejoice the Lord Is King” Darwall’s 148th * God’s Greeting: Grace and peace be to you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The Lord be with you. And also with you. Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. Blessed be God, And blessed is his kingdom, now and forever. Amen. * Prayer of the Day: Almighty Father, who gave your only Son to die for our sins and to rise for our justification, give us grace to put away the leaven of malice and wickedness, that we may serve you in purity of life and truth, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. * Response: PH 388 “Christ, the Lord Is Risen Today” Easter Hymn Hail the Lord of earth and heaven! Alleluia! Praise to you by both be given; Alleluia! Risen Christ, triumphant now; Alleluia! Every knee to you shall bow. Alleluia! Confession and Prayer Prayer of Confession: Lord God Almighty, who searches our hearts and knows our thoughts and intentions, we confess that we have not loved you with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength. And we have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. We have loved what we ought not to have loved, and we have coveted what is not ours. Our sins are too heavy to carry, to real to hide, and too deep to undo. Forgive what our lips tremble to name, what our hearts can no longer bear, and what has for us become a consuming fire of judgment. Set us free from a past we cannot change and open to us a future in which we can be changed, and grant us grace to grow in the likeness of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we pray. Silent Prayer and Confession Minister: Amen. Assurance of Pardon: Romans 5 Response: “As the Deer”
Refrain: You alone are my strength, my shield. To you alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my heart’s desire, and I long to worship you.
