Several adult classes are offered on Sunday mornings during the school year. Classes begin at 9:00am. The following classes were offered during Fall, 2018:
- Canons of Dort (celebrating the 400th anniversary of the Synod of Dort)
- Verse-by-verse study of Paul's Epistle to the Romans
- Study of I and II Peter (a women's study)
An opportunity for women to fellowship, pray, and study the Bible. Taking their name from the disciple of Acts 9:36, "who was always doing good and helping the poor," this group also seeks to support charitable causes. The group is currently studying "The Names of God", and meets from late September through early May on alternating Tuesdays at 9:30am.
Young Adult Coffeehouse
Young Adult Coffeehouses are a ministry partnership between Valley Chapel, Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church, and Fairlawn Christian Reformed Church. Hosted on a rotating basis between all partnering churches on the first Friday evening of every month, all area High School Graduates to 30’s are invited for a free night of Christian Fellowship – including live music, board games, and tasty treats.
A number of small groups (6 – 10 adults) are organized within our congregation to bring people together on a regular basis for a time of study, prayer, and fellowship. Currently, there are groups meeting on Sunday and Thursday evenings; some meet in homes, some meet at the church. If you would like to join such a group, or have questions, please contact the church office.
Coffee Break and Story Hour
Coffee Break reaches out to women and children from the community through a time of fellowship, Bible study, sharing, and prayer. The group meets on Thursdays at 9:30am during the school year. Story Hour, for 3- to 5-year olds, offers Bible stories, singing, praying, crafts and snacks for toddlers. A nursery for infants is also provided. See our Coffee Break page for more information.
