A number of opportunities are provided for adults to meet for Bible study and fellowship.

Church School

Adult classes are held on Sunday mornings during the school year. Classes begin at 9:00 AM.  The following two classes are currently offered.:

  1. Study of Paul's letter to the Ephesians, along with a study of selected topics from church history.
  2. Verse-by-verse study of the Gospel of Luke

Dorcas Society

An opportunity for women to fellowship, pray, and study the Bible. Taking their name from the disciple of Acts 9:36, "who was always doing good and helping the poor," this group also seeks to support charitable causes. The group is currently studying "The Apostle Peter", and meets from late September through early May on alternating Tuesdays at 9:30am.

Men's Bible Study

NOTE:  This is TEMPORARILY NOT AVAILABLE during the COVID-19 pandemic.

An opportunity for men to study the Bible and enjoy a time of fellowship and conversation with one another. The group is currently studying the book of Isaiah and its picture of the two ways to live: with experience of disaster or with songs of praise to God. The men's study meets throughout the year on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at 7:30am.

Young Adult Coffeehouse

Young Adult Coffeehouses are a ministry partnership between Valley Chapel, Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church, and Fairlawn Christian Reformed Church. Hosted on a rotating basis between all partnering churches on the first Friday evening of every month, all area High School Graduates to 30’s are invited for a free night of Christian Fellowship – including live music, board games, and tasty treats.  More information is available on their facebook page.

Small Groups

A number of small groups (6 – 10 adults) are organized within our congregation to bring people together on a regular basis for a time of study, prayer, and fellowship. Currently, there are groups meeting on Sunday and Thursday evenings; some meet in homes, some meet at the church. If you would like to join such a group, or have questions, please contact the church office.

Coffee Break and Story Hour

Coffee Break reaches out to women and children from the community through a time of fellowship, Bible study, sharing, and prayer. The group meets on Thursdays at 9:30am during the school year. Story Hour, for 3- to 5-year olds, offers Bible stories, singing, praying, crafts and snacks. A nursery for infants is also provided. See our Coffee Break page for more information.
