A number of opportunities are provided for adults to meet for Bible study and fellowship.

The following ministries are listed on this page:

Church School

Adult classes are held on Sunday mornings during the school year. Classes begin at 9:00 AM.  The following classes are currently offered:

  • Verse-by-verse study of the book of the prophet Isaiah.
  • A study of the letter to the Romans.

Dorcas Society

An opportunity for women to fellowship, pray, and study the Bible. Taking their name from the disciple of Acts 9:36, "who was always doing good and helping the poor," this group also seeks to support charitable causes. The group is continuing their study of  “The Gospel of John”, and meets from late September through early May on alternating Tuesdays at 10:00am.

Public Lectures

In partnership with others, we periodically offer opportunities to cultivate thinking and conversations about important issues of the day in light of our calling as God's people in the wider world.  Each winter, we host a livestream presentation of the January Series of Calvin University.  And on other occasions throughout the year, we partner with our sister congregation, Pleasant Street Church, in a series of lectures we called Faith (in) Forming lectures.  in which we host conversations about the issues of our day and to bring the resources of the Christian faith to bear on them for the sake of our community.

Small Groups

Several small groups (6 – 10 adults) are organized within our congregation to bring people together on a regular basis for a time of study, prayer, and fellowship. Currently, there are groups meeting on Sunday, Tuesday and Saturday evenings; some meet in homes, some meet at the church. If you would like to join such a group, or have questions, please contact the church office.

Coffee Break

Coffee Break Bible Study is a place where people who have never opened a Bible—as well as those who have a lot of experience—can feel comfortable to share and to learn about God and what he desires for them. Coffee Break reaches out to women and children from the community through a time of fellowship, Bible study, sharing, and prayer. The group meets on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. during the school year.  Nursery and children’s programming is also provided.  See our Coffee Break page for more information.
